Complimentary wine will be served starting at 6:30 PM\, giving you time to socialize before the program begins at 7 PM. \nRon Meza\, Stockton native\, began playing trumpet at age 8 under the mentorship of influential music educator Mel Won. He studied jazz performance at San José State University and trained with legendary trumpeters Claude Gordon and Uan Rasey. Ron’s career spans performances with the LA Jazz Workshop\, international tours with artists like Salif Keita and Mory Kanté\, appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival\, and founding the Paris Jazz Orchestra. Back in the U.S.\, he continues to perform\, record for film and TV\, and give masterclasses\, collaborating with renowned musicians including Donald Byrd\, Carlos Santana\, Branford Marsalis\, Wayne Shorter\, and the Four Tops. \nProgram Details: \n\n\nAll 1st & 3rd Thursday events are included with regular museum admission unless otherwise stated. \n\n\nMuseum and store remain open until 9 PM. \n\n\nSeating is limited to ensure visitor safety and protect the museum’s collection.

Children will create their own cave-style drawings filled with animals and symbols\, exploring how early humans told stories through art. With over 15 years studying the neuroscience of trauma and resilience\, Dr. McDonald is the author of Unbroken: The Trauma Response Is Never Wrong and The Joy Reset. \nIn this interactive talk\, she will explore how understanding the brain and nervous system can transform the way we relate to stress\, trauma\, and everyday overwhelm. Drawing from The Joy Reset\, Dr. McDonald will share how joy and hope actively support healing\, along with simple\, practical tools participants can begin using immediately. Blending science\, storytelling\, and reflection\, this program invites attendees to move from self-blame to self-compassion and to leave with a small toolkit of “tiny little joys” to carry into daily life. \nBooks and Signing: Dr. McDonald’s books will be available in the Museum Store\, with a book signing following the talk.
