In the spirit of Celebrate SJC Diversity!, the Haggin Museum Department of Museum Travel invites you to a meaningful self-transporting tour honoring the 84th anniversary of FDR’s signing of Executive Order 9066, which led to the unjust incarceration of 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry during WWII.
The Stockton Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League hosts the annual Day of Remembrance, featuring a candle ceremony honoring the camps, followed by a book talk by author Susan H. Kamei, a Q&A session, and refreshments. Her book, When Can We Go Back to America?, shares firsthand accounts of the experiences of incarcerees.
