2nd Saturdays For Families: Cave Wall Creations

2nd Saturdays: Cave Wall Creations
Saturday, March 14, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Discover, create, and explore at the Haggin Museum!
2nd Saturdays for Families are designed for children ages 5–12, connecting hands-on learning to the museum’s temporary exhibitions and core collection. Each session includes:
-
A creative art project
-
An engaging STEM activity
-
A docent-led read-aloud
-
A self-guided “Explore the Galleries” experience
These activities spark curiosity, observation, and imagination while helping children make meaningful connections between stories, science, history, and art.
This month: Step back in time with Cave Wall Creations, inspired by The First Drawing. Children will create their own cave-style drawings filled with animals and symbols, exploring how early humans told stories through art. This project ties into the Native American Gallery’s rock art and animal paintings, showing families how storytelling through images has spanned centuries.
